Anti Bullying Week

Monday 16th November was the start of Anti Bullying Week in School.

During Anti Bullying Week there were lots of activities arranged and visitors to the school. The main event was the morning assemblies where they were all based around and carried an anti bullying theme.

On Monday a guest speaker, Celia, opened the week explaining to the children what it was all about.

Years Reception and 1 spent fifteen minutes taking part in circle time reflecting on the effects of bullying  while Years 5 and 6 watched a dvd by Steven Woodward on crime prevention.

On Tuesday Years 1 and 2 gave an assembly on "What makes a good friend" while Year 4 were split into two groups to take part in team building sessions.                                      

                                                        

On Wednesday Years 3 and 4 gave an assembly  on peer pressure while Year 3 were split into two groups to take part in team building sessions.

On Thursday Years 5 and 6 gave an assembly about cyber bullying while Year 2 split into two groups to take part in team building sessions. Celia the guest speaker from Mondays assembly also visited Years 5 and 6 to talk about bullying.

On Friday there was a non uniform day which the school council had organised. The theme was all the colours of the rainbow and for a small fee of 50p the children attended school wearing all the colours of the rainbow and all money raised will be used by the school for the children. Years 5 and 6 were also split into two groups today to take part in team building and anti bullying activities.

During lunch breaks children were awarded with stickers for displaying kind behaviour.

A poem and a picture competition was also run and the winners in each class were awarded with certificates and prizes.
