Night and Day Wow Day

"Day and Night"

This term Years 1 and 2 are starting a new topic called "Day and Night". Teh children brought their pyjamas and toothbrush to school and spent the whole day taking part in back to front activities. They enjoyed hot chocolate and a bedtime story first thing in the morning and breakfast cereal just before they went home ! ..

In year 2, the children enjoyed making their own waking up machine and they watched Wallace and Grommit to see how they made their waking up machine to give them ideas. They also ordered some pictures to make the story read correctly.

In year 1 the children sang nursery rhymes such as "Hey diddle diddle" and instead of the Cow jumping over the moon, they changed the words to the cow jumped over the sun !!

The carpet area was covered in duvets, sleeping bags and pillows and the children felt like they were sat in bed while they were there. A great time was had by all and the children have a better undestanding now of bedtime routines and the difference between what is done at night compared to daytime. A brilliant start to their new topic.
