Reception Class 2009/2010

Reception class is the first class the children enter when they join Park School as a 4 year old.

The Teacher is Mrs Swords who is supported by her Teaching Assistant Mrs Poole. Together they provide a good foundation for the children and teach them a lot of skills that they will require further into their education. They start to learn basics like the alphabet and numeracy and then begin putting letters together to form words and read books.

Some of their time is also spent doing play activities such as role playing, building, colouring, baking, singing, and other fun activities.

The children learn the basics of forming relationships within the class and making new friends. For some children this is their first time in this sort of environment and for others it is the next step up from play group where there have already experienced this and it is important to us that every child is cared for in individual ways to suit them and make them feel happy.
